The campground sits inside Pierz Park, on the opposite bank of the river from the golf course, and a footbridge connects the two. That's not a minor detail, it's the whole shape of a weekend here. That's the honest picture, and it matches what you'd expect from a park campground rather than a commercial RV resort. There's a small playground right at the campground, and once you cross the footbridge there's a larger playground, the swimming area, and picnic pavilions with electricity on the golf course side.

The river is part of the trip

The swim area and dam come up again and again in what people say about this place. Tim S. has been coming the same weekend for over forty years and still mentions the river first, a swim area with slides, and swimming in the dam itself, which he says the kids love. Jason S. said much the same, that it's very clean and he likes the swimming area right next to the golf course. Food, hours, and getting on the course

The campground is open dawn to dusk, seven nights a week. When you get hungry, the clubhouse across the bridge runs a full menu and drink options, grill hours 11:30am to 6:30pm, so you don't need to pack every meal in the cooler. Tee times run through the course's own booking system, and campsite reservations go through Campspot, both linked right from the site. It's a simple idea that's harder to find than you'd think: a real campground and a real golf course, close enough that you can do both in the same afternoon without breaking camp. That's the whole pitch, and it's held up for the better part of a century.
